The company was created in 1996 and gathers several singers and instrumentalists hailed from different backgrounds of contemporary, baroque, traditional or improvised music. They devote their time to play music from 10th to 16th century. As he accompanies himself on the lute or on many other instruments, Marco Horvat offers unbelievable processes of ancient music. His search begun in the early 80's strayed him from the beaten track as he studied during 4 years the South Indian music in Bombay. From the moment he came back, he studied the Middle Ages music at the Schola Cantrum in Basel, and then joined many companies such as Gilles Binchois, Alla Francesca or Huelgas Ensemble…He sang and played with La Chapelle Royale, L'Ensemble Jacques Moderne, La Symphonie du Marais and often work with La Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy, L'ensemble William Byrd, Akademia or Le Poème Harmonique. |
